2012 will see the first edition of the annual Progressive Music Awards 2012, an initiative by Prog Magazine UK.
Mike Portnoy (Flying Colors) has been nominated in the category “virtuoso” for his outstanding rhythm work on Flying Colors’ selftitled debut album.

As Prog Magazine states:
“Anyone who thought leaving Dream Theater would stop this inveterate rhythm specialist in his tracks was kidding themselves: Mike Portnoy has music pouring out of him 24/7. With Flying Colors, Adrenaline Mob and a host of other projects, the prog metal legend remains an unstoppable, infectious and insanely talented force”.
