Tony MacAlpine has always been more than a guitar player. He started his musical journey at a young age as a classically trained pianist and violinist. Keyboards still play a big part in his career. Over the years he was asked to attend many sessions and gigs as a keyboard player. He also plays keys on his solo albums.
With Tony MacAlpine it has never been just about speed or technique. Sure, his solos are works of art. Each and everyone of them. And they can be fast. But what makes his work stand out compared to many other instrumentalists, is that his music is based on great songs, catchy riffs and beautiful melodies.

He also recorded and toured with countless acts and artists such as Steve Vai and the Breed, Vinnie Moore and Mark Boals. Whatever he did, he was always praised for his professionalism, skill, musicality and dedication.
